Sierra Nevada License Plates will be issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles in 2006. These are official license plates available for all vehicles registered in California. Proceeds from the sales and renewal of Sierra Nevada License Plates will directly fund the Sierra Nevada Conservancy’s efforts to protect and restore the 25 million acres – more than a quarter of the state of California – of majestic landscapes in the Sierra Nevada. Included are rivers and creeks, lakes and ponds, meadows and forests, farms and ranches, and rural towns and villages – on the Modoc Plateau, through the Sierra Valley, down the Truckee River, in Hope Valley, Kings Canyon and the Sequoia National Forest.
